In partnership with the Rotary Club of West U (Houston, TX), we aim to improve literary rates at St. Martin De Porres Elementary school. We are working towards making accessible 50 computers, in conjunction with the Computer Assisted Learning System (CALS), to students from grade 5 through 8 and in doing so also ensure that this assisted reading program becomes a part of their full-time curriculum. St. Martin De Porres Primary School has over 700 students. A lot of these students are graduating without having full competency in English and Math. It is important to note that this school is in the middle of the worst gang area of Belize City.
Our goal is to empower these children through a good Primary School education. The Global Grant value is $160,000 BZ/ $80,000 US.
